Abstract

On the evidence of mega- and microfossils, the fossiliferous beds at Nidpur are considered to be of the Triassic age. The various Triassic mega- and microfloral assemblages from the southern hemisphere have been compared with the floral assemblage of Nidpur. Floristically, the age of Nidpur fossiliferous bed is younger than the Panchet Stage. The most characteristic feature of the Nidpur flora is the overwhelming dominance of the genus Dicroidium.
