Abstract

The palynological assemblage of the Athgarh Formation, Cuttack and Puri districts, Orissa comprises 45 species belonging to 29 genera of pollen and spores. The assemblage has a pre- dominance of gymnospermic pollen, particularly Araucariacites and Callialasporites. Pteridophytic spores are meagrely represented. In its quantitative composition the Athgarh mioflora has overall resemblance with the miofloras of the Vemavaram and Upper Katrol beds.
